SARDINE RUN
During the migration of the sardines along the coast of South Africa, all the marine predators are looking for sardines! We spent hours on the Ocean hoping good action. Common dolphins are using strategies to hunt sardines. They isolate sardines, which defend themselves by coming together to form a large mass (bait ball) to attempt to intimidate their predators. But this trick does not work with dolphins that hunt the bait ball until the last sardine. To photograph this behavior, we spotted and stayed with a small bait ball that was using us to protect themselves from the marine birds. But the dolphins do not care about diver and hunt the sardines just in front of my camera.
